Hi, my name is Pine and I’m starting this to support my sister Shannon rebuild after a fire.
Shannon’s story is one of resilience, determination, and hope.
After a lifelong battle with addiction, Shannon is approaching four years of sobriety, a milestone she has fought hard to achieve. In that time, she has completely turned her life around. She secured a job as a custodian at a women’s shelter through a competitive process, rebuilt her credit, earned her driver’s license, and was even approved to purchase a new car. Step by step, she was creating a stable, loving home for herself and her children—a home generously given to her by her mother, and one she filled with pride and purpose.
Her dedication didn’t go unnoticed. Through her hard work and commitment, Shannon was offered an even greater role serving her community. But on the very first day of this new chapter, everything changed.
When she returned home, she was met with devastation: a fire had torn through her house. A side-by-side vehicle she had recently purchased—intended as a special 16th birthday gift for her daughter this May, caught fire and exploded, destroying half the home and everything inside.
In an instant, Shannon and her children lost nearly everything.
As if that weren’t enough, her son Hughston’s birthday is at the end of March, and all of his gifts and decorations were lost in the fire as well.
Shannon is no stranger to starting over, but this time is different. This time, her children are depending on her and she requires stability to maintain her new employment.
Despite everything, Shannon remains strong. She has proven her ability to rise, rebuild, and keep going, but she shouldn’t have to do it alone. Today she received confirmation from the fire restoration services that everything must be thrown out. She has to acquire everything all over again: furniture, clothing, kitchen necessities, towels, blankets, toys for her son, etc.
Let’s come together to support Shannon and her children during this incredibly difficult time. Let’s show her that her hard work, her progress, and her commitment to a better life truly matter.
Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference as they begin to rebuild their lives.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
