Shannon Hammett's Recovery Fund

On Saturday, November 16, 2019, Shannon Hammett was involved in a horrible car accident that sent her to the ICU (link to news and photo of accident). Under heavy rain, a driver on the other side of the median caused the accident when his vehicle hydroplaned out of control, sideswiped the car directly in front of Shannon’s, spinning and hitting her car with no time to avoid a collision. After being extracted from her vehicle, Shannon was intubated and sent directly to the ICU at McLeod Medical Center in Florence, SC. She suffered internal bleeding, head trauma, brain bleeding, and a broken arm. After intestinal surgery and three days on life support, she was taken off sedation and woke up on her own about 24 hours later. After 3 weeks in the ICU Shannon continues to make daily progress and can now sit up, eat, and drink but is still not 100% lucid. Fortunately, doctors believe her brain and her body will fully heal, though she will have a long recovery road ahead.  Your financial help would be deeply appreciated.  Shannon has no income while in the hospital, as well as no medical insurance to relieve the financial burden of a 3 week stay in the ICU and continued hospitalization.  The approximate price for a daily ICU stay is $5,000, not including surgeries and rehab costs.   Shannon is a single mom to Brianne and Danielle, and grandmother to McKenzie.  She is an avid weight-lifter at Fitness World Gym, and a long-term server at Takis Diner (both in Darlington, SC). She is also the daughter of Frank & Sharyl and Dave & Patti, and sister to Greg, Chris, Brittany, and David.  Our family appreciates any prayers and/or financial support you are able to give.
