Hello, my name is Amanda and I’m fundraising on behalf of my dear friend Roxanne Greer after her husband tragically passed away August 5th 2023. Shannon was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis - a rare blood disorder similar to Leukemia shortly before his passing. He is survived by his adoring wife, his parents, son, his fur babies. He leaves behind a void in their hearts and those who were lucky enough to know him.

In Roxie’s words:

“My Shannon passed away Saturday evening, August 5th, 2023.

This doesn't feel real. I'm still in quite a deep level of denial. I really have not been managing well at all, I mean, who would be? Shannon was my everything, my best friend, the love of my life. He was the best man I ever met... he used his stature and tough look to defend the underdog and had a strong sense of justice. Even though he was 6'1 220 and looked like he could kick the shit out of a truck driver, he was the kindest, gentlest soul... a teddy bear. With this being how our story ends, I dont reget a moment. He was my adventure and I'm so grateful to have known him and love him. I just can't wrap my head around that he's gone. I'm still waiting for him to come home.

We are waiting to get him back so we can make his final arrangements. The idea that that's happening is... just unbelievable. Shannon used to joke with me that he's gonna outlive us all, and not gonna lie, I think I believed him. Unfortunately, I think his disease was a lot further along than either of us knew.

How do I move forward? I'm stuck in this fucked up time loop where time goes by fast and slow at the same time. He's all I can think about.

This has been the hardest thing I've ever had to write, and anything I can say doesn't feel like it'll be able to express how lost I am without him.
