On July 11th, 2024, our mother, Shannon Gallagher, sadly and unexpectedly passed away while visiting the Netherlands.
Her insurance policy claimed to cover repatriation of remains, but only once her estate had an administrator/executor. After jumping through several hurdles, I finally became administrator in May of 2025. I filed the claim, but it was denied as the policy only covered expenses accrued in 2024.
It would cost ~$1,200 for one of us to fly over there and bring the ashes home, plus another $190 to obtain the necessary passport.
Shannon's ashes have been languishing in a foreign crematorium for the past 13 months. Any help in getting her home so that we may finally hold a service for her would be immensely appreciated.
