Hi everyone,
I met Shannon over 20 years ago , when she became my neighbor and now she is my good friend. 

13 years ago, Shannon was first diagnosed with  a rare cancer called Leiomyosarcoma.  After surgery and multiple doctors appointments, it was determined that she would have scans every 3 months for a few years. The frequency would eventually decrease but she would need follow up scans for 9 years.   In 2015 she was informed that there was no evidence of disease and at that time told to have yearly checks.  Sadly,  she was recently informed that the cancer is back but this time it would include an additional cancer, lung cancer.  Over the last few weeks, Shannon has had multiple tests, doctor appointments,  and 2 surgeries.  She will need additional treatment including chemotherapy.  Shannon is currently on medical leave from her job as a special ed teacher. So to help defray the cost of daily living expenses and medical bills, I am asking you to consider making a donation to help her so she can focus on her recovery.
