As most of you know, our dear friend Shannon was diagnosed with late-stage ovarian cancer in late 2020. After surgery and frontline chemotherapy, she went into remission for a year and a half. Her cancer returned last year and after several unsuccessful rounds of chemo, she will begin yet another chemo regimen next week.

As you can imagine, after three years of therapy, the medical costs the Atkins face are staggering. Family friends and others in the community want to help alleviate some of the financial burden of Shannon’s chemo and help their family seek alternative medical care in conjunction with her current treatment.

Unfortunately, alternative care is costly and not typically covered by insurance.
