My dear friends Shannon & Matt lost all
their equipment for helping veterans as well as their personal barn and
equipment in a fire .
Shannon and Matt are givers- they give
of their time, their labor and help our
veterans with accessibility tools,
installing them, putting them together,
whatever is needed.
Shannon says it best “I am beyond
heartbroken right now. 20 years worth
of work gone in a matter of minutes. All
our tools, my car, the tractor... my Dad’s
lifetime collection of antique cars. Thank goodness the fire department let Matt
run past them to get the truck and horse trailer that was parked in the driveway
because of the evacuation. We work so
hard, survived a near miss with a
hurricane only to have this happen.
I don’t know how to recover from this.
Fortunately all animals and people are
safe, and we aren’t homeless thanks to
the dedication of the Lumberton Fire
Department with help from three other
fire departments...and the Lumberton
Chief who never left us from 10:30 pm to almost noon today.”
I hope you will consider giving to these
two wonderful people. If you live near
them, even giving your time to aid in the clean up. For those who don’t live nearby, please give what you can.I
