The Camp Fire in Paradise, CA has been devastating. My sister Shannon, my brother-in-law, and their two children (5 & almost 9) lost almost everything they had in a matter of hours. While they have not been back in yet, based on information they have received, the loss of their house is a virtual certainty. The hospital where my brother-in-law worked was destroyed. Schools are gone, and the fire was so fast-moving, there was not even enough time to get personal property out of the home. They fled their house with necessary documents and a couple of backpacks; everything else was destroyed. With their home gone, their jobs gone, and minimal personal property saved, the rebuilding and likely relocation will be lengthy and costly. Times are tight, but every little bit helps.
