Hi I’m Shannan (or Shaz) and I am the maker behind the bold and fun accessory brand, Birdee & Star.
In January this year, I felt a lump in my breast and before I knew it I was thrown into a world of tests and uncertainty. Suddenly I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer at the age of 39. To say that I was devastated and shocked was an understatement. My life as I knew it had changed forever.
Things moved quickly after that. More tests and talk of chemotherapy and surgery were thrown on the table. I have endured 7 out of 15 chemo cycles so far and believe me it is tough. I have managed to suffer almost all possible side effects so far, but no matter what I am determined to beat this and get my life back.
I am so thankful that my family and friends are supporting me as much as possible during this difficult time. I have two young sons and a hubby that mean the world to me, and I hate that they have to go through this.
