Fire Damage leaving 2 pets dead!

Hi, my name is Shannan. My fundraiser is to help my family and pets with clothes, toiletries, food, shelter, housing repairs, cleaning costs, paint, and the contractor. This is an extremely life-changing circumstance for me and my family. It has affected all of us mentally, emotionally, and physically. It has been hard for us to live normally every day; we are all sleep-deprived from overthinking and anxiety being displaced and losing everything. My house burned on Tuesday, 1/30/2024. As far as I am aware the damage from the fire and smoke is limited to the upstairs and everything in the 3 upstairs bedrooms, hallway, and bathroom will need to be discarded along with the carpeting. The bottom floor has extreme water damage from water and foam to put out the fire. I currently do not know the full damage of the house due to the house being deemed unsafe to enter by the fire department. I am sure the cost will be much more than what I am asking, but whatever you can share would be eminently helpful. Everyone is safe except we lost some very precious fur babies, Sandy my beautiful calico cat, and our chinchilla, Chinchility. The dogs have been separated from each other and my beautiful Shar-pei had to be returned to SPARC and is now up for adoption. My crazy mutt Sparky is currently being housed at my parent’s house. I was sad to leave them, but it is the best thing for them in the current situation. It was a hard decision.

The HOA covered the roof of the house with some plastic, but I do not know how well they did protecting the house from all the rain. My grandson’s room, he has lived with me since he was 4 and has lived in my house since he was born, will have more damage because of the rain, the window was blown out during the fire. It is the same as my son’s room because his balcony was blown out and everything is leaking down to the bottom floor. Causing water damage along with possible mold damage. We are homeless and living house to house with family, thankfully my work is allowing me to stay there soon. My whole family has been split up, my son went to a home in Bakersfield, and my grandson is living between me and his grandpa who lives out of town. He just switched schools from public school to independent studies, so he doesn’t miss class being out of town. He’s having a hard time losing his home, possessions, and now his friends and social life. The discomfort of losing my fur babies and having to be separated from my family is unbearable. I am currently trying to find what the HOA fire insurance will be covering, as far as I have been told by the insurance, they only covered the outside of the house. I am trying to be as positive as I can to get through each day and find something to smile about. I would love to sleep in my own bed. The unknown keeps me up at night, not knowing what it looks like with all the damage is heart-wrenching. The feeling of dread is so painful the time that it is taking for answers and to realize I will never be able to cuddle with my kitty brings me to tears and sadness.
