My name is Michelle Shankland and on July 27th, my home that I had just paid off on June 3rd and I am still waiting on a title for caught fire and burned to the ground. Because we didn't have the title, we could not insure it. We are struggling because we are a large family and housing is very scarce in Aroostook County, Maine. We have a small camp, but it needs lots of things to be livable through a winter here. We are attempting to raise money for a well and insulation. We reached out to all the programs available but have been unable to find a loan that we can qualify for. There are no programs willing to fund a well. We are not wanting to ask for help and have spent the last month and a half trying to work extra, but there is no way to earn that kind of money that quickly. Please, even if it is just a dollar, it is one more than we had yesterday.
