Overcoming Hodgskins Lymphoma!

My name is Shanice Gordon. I’m 24 years old and I was diagnosed with Hodgskins Lymphoma on March 27 2017.
The diagnosis came as a BIG surprise to me because I found out I had a Mediastinal Mass in my chest only after receiving chest x-rays at a Chiropractic office. Long story short: I went in for a massage, the doctor noticed a curvature in my spine and wanted to take x-rays. Upon doing so the mass was discovered. By the end of the week I was in the Oncologist office.
Nonetheless, the emotions I am feeling are not only overwhelming financially but emotionally as well. Because I recently moved out of state, away from my family and friends for a new job.
I begin chemo on April 10, 2017 I am in need of support: mentally, emotionally, and financially to return home and continue my chemo treatment. My treatments will be every other week for six months making it difficult for me to work and or take care of myself, relying on family.
I have already been transferred to a new Oncologist out of state with a consultation date of 4-17-17 and my second chemo appointment on 4-24-17. Having to resign from my job due to my diagnosis is disappointing but my health comes first and I WILL KICK HODGSKINS!
The cost of relocating again and treatment alone are enough to get my spirits down. But I am keeping my spirits up as much as possible. I am strong, upbeat, and have a lot of prayers being sent up for me. I know my life is changing and I don’t know what to expect but I do know support and positivity will get me through.
