We are the only vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Boise. We also serve the community with special needs foods as well as our own herbal teas and suppliments.
Nutritional education and advice is available as well.
Service to the community has always been our primary goal and we have striven to meet the needs of our customers.
As a business we have enjoyed a level of sucess in that we have always paid our bills and always met our payroll.
Our problems began when a new group of investors took control of the building that we are located in, a few years ago and began to want more money. Last year they demanded what I can only describe as an extremely unreasonable increase in our lease payment. We can no longer work with the present owners.
We are forced to find a new building or give up on what we feel is our calling in life. Our lease ends at the end of July, so we really need to make some decisions quickly.
Shangri-La Tearoom and Divine Lotus Tea Company employ 13 people who would all lose their employment should we have to close. Boise would lose it's only true vegetarian and vegan option for dining out.
My wife Toni and I, along with all our employees would be very grateful for any help in preventing us from closing our restaurant.
All donations will be used to keep our dream of continuing to serve Boise alive. We do have a new location in mind, but due to our higher lease payments over the last year, we simply cannot do this on our own.
You're donation will be used for moving costs, preparing our new site for business, and promotion so that our customers will know that we have moved.
Our tea company, Divine Lotus Tea has suffered greatly in the last year to the point of losing wholesale customers, simply because we couldn't afford to invest in ingredients for our signature teas. We hope to remedy this problem as well.
Thank you for for checking us out and thank you to all who donate and help us stay afloat.
