Shane’s Sarcoma Battle:
Hello, my name is Meghan and I am one
of the many aunts & uncles of Shane
DeJesus.
On July 7th, Shane was taken
to the emergency room with extreme
stomach pains. We have recently
learned there are multiple tumors in his
stomach lining- a very rare form of
Cancer.
Sloan Memorial Kettering has proposed a
very aggressive treatment plan for the
next year. At age 27, Shane is moving back
home to East Islip to be near family, closer
to appointments, doctors, etc. Shane has a
difficult time keeping food down, and is
in pain. He hasn’t been able to work.
All the proceeds of this page will help to
relieve Shane of some financial burden
and allow him to focus on his health.
The money will be put towards his monthly health care premium, car payment, auto insurance, incidentals, etc.
Shane has such a calm, warm, peaceful
demeanor. He has faced adversity
before and his strength/pride are such
assets to his personality. He’s going to
need those characteristics-especially now. BUT (in the meantime) he’s probably
going to be upset with me for starting a GoFundMe. OH WELL .. He’s going to have to get over it!
I know that 2020 has been emotionally
and financially difficult for many families.
Helen (Shane’s mom) is an essential worker, at a LI nursing home. I’m hoping this page, in some small way will help to ease her
burdens too. Caring for the elderly, helping your sick son, possibly extra bills, while maintaining a home can be a very overwhelming feeling.
Thank you all so much for your time. Prayers, blessings, and support for you
Shane, Helen, Mike, Michael, and Logan!
We love you.
