Dear Friends and family. My name is Teresa Bartlett. I have felt led by the Lord to raise money in purchasing medical glasses for my nephew Shane Gowens. Below is his story...

My name is Shane Gowens and I suffer from a variant of Stargardt's disease, a central eye disease. I am legally blind. I cannot see to read, watch tv or see my wife's face. I am not able to work because I can't use a computer.

Because of my central vision loss, I need a special kind of glasses to see normally. The glasses are called esight go, they cost 4,500.00 plus tax. My eye Specialist, Dr. Scott Parker, has recommended these glasses so I can see again. I will once again be able to read, watch tv, see faces and work with Alabama Vocational Rehabilitation/ Blind Services to return to work. Blind Services cannot buy these glasses as they are made in Canada and not a Alabama vendor. I have a Grant for training and other equipment that will help me return to work. However, without these special glasses I cannot do the online training. This opportunity is a once in a lifetime.

All money raised will go to the purchase of these esight go glasses , extra batteries which cost $153.00 per battery. I need extra because the charge only last 3 hrs. But my classes last 8hrs.
