Shane’s Journey

Shane Grace is a husband, father, son, and friend in need of our help! He was recently diagnosed with AML (a form of leukemia). Since day one, his wife, Jody, and their family has been by his side. If you don’t know this family’s history, cancer has been a lingering obstacle in their lives over the last 13 years beginning with their daughter, Addy. Thanks to treatments, bone marrow transplants, and prayers, she is perfect and healthy today! But now, it’s our turn to help Shane in his battle! 

First & foremost, I ask you for all your prayers, good vibes and well wishes to Shane & his family. He is strong in his faith and knows there’s a bigger physician in control. I pray that his treatments are smooth with minimal side effects and provide him the most effective and fastest recovery possible! 

Second of all, I am setting up this GoFundMe account on behalf of the Grace family who begrudgingly allowed me to do so. They are a very proud family and would never want to ask for help or handouts, but I’ve begged to allow us as a community, family and friends to help. If I were in their shoes, I know that I could not do this alone emotionally, physically, or financially. I’m asking you to give on their behalf any amount you’re able to.

I wanted to share a post from Shane as well. 

Cancer. The one word we all have heard our entire lives, but never think we will be the ones that end up with it. Well friends, most of you now know, I have become that person who never dreamed that I would be told I have cancer. Lately, I haven’t felt like myself and have been battling some smaller issues that everyone thought would eventually go away. They didn’t. Finally, after coming home from a vacation, my wife thought I may have had blood clots in my leg. She stayed on me to go the ER and we finally did. Unfortunately, they did find blood clots in my lung and legs. As we were prepared to take care of that problem, the dr’s noticed a more serious issue at hand. My white blood cell count was screaming high and my red blood platelets were dangerously low. My immune system was shot. No wonder I had so many other issues because my body simply couldn’t fight them off. After a tornado of a day, I was sent to UT hospital to meet what I have been told is the best guy in east TN to get me thru this. We know who the Great Physician is and we are all confident that we will overcome and conquer this with our GOD almighty. I can’t thank everyone enough for the outpouring of love and prayers. We will keep everyone up to date on my progress here on the site. My family loves each and every one of you guys, and remember what the Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!” Philippians 4:13.
