Shane's Farewell: Family Needs Your Help
Donation protected
You may have seen his face posted on social media, podcasts, & Region 8 News. Today is day 7 of countless hours of searching and praying the search is over. Family and friends mourn over the unforeseen tragic death of their loved one, Shane Scott. Shane recently relocated to Randolph County. After a few short months of living here, he was traveling on foot one Wednesday night when he took a wrong turn and found himself lost in 10,000 acres. He called 911 for help, but when the deputies arrived, they could not locate Shane. Family, friends, volunteers, & law enforcement searched on foot and in the air, hoping to bring him home safe. Tonight, family received the heartbreaking news that Shane's body has been found. We are thankful for everyone that helped share his face on social media, TV, and podcasts, and for everyone who took the time to walk in freezing cold temperatures to help search for him. It was with y'all's help his family and friends will at least have closure. Shane does not have a burial; this page is to help raise funds to pay for his funeral. I kindly ask if you are able to, please make a donation. If we could all give what we can, then together we can lift a huge financial burden from his family and give Shane a well-deserved memorial so his family and friends can gather together to celebrate the life they shared with Shane and grieve the loss of their loved one without having a huge financial burden. Shane's daughter, Chelsea Simmons, is coordinating his funeral arrangements, and she is listed as the beneficiary for this GoFundMe page. Even if you are not financially able to give, please say a prayer for this family. God bless you all, Timmy & Candi Smith (friends of Shane).
