Help Shane Study Abroad in Dublin
Hi,
My name is Shane James. I am an upcoming senior at the University of Maryland, College Park. I am studying to become a public school teacher because I believe in giving back to my community through education.
I am asking for your support to study abroad in Dublin, Ireland for the fall 2016 semester. As a working class student, my family and I lack the means to cover the costs of my studies - including airfare, in-country travel, food, basic living supplies, books, and off-campus housing in the city.
Although I am working throughout the summer to save money and my scholarships will provide some support, I will still incur many costs that may prevent me from studying abroad. All money raised will go towards supporting the aforementioned expenses that remain uncovered.
Please support my education by donating to this campaign and by spreading the word to your friends and colleagues. Every contribution helps.
I have never travelled outside of the United States. Ireland is known for its beauty, hospitality, rich history, and excellent education - the country is a great place for first-time travellers. As a future educator with a passion for history, I hope to gain new skills and perspectives that will help me grow as a professional and a person. I plan to arrive in Dublin by September 4th and begin my classes by the 14th.
Thank you so much for your support,
-Shane
