Shane Needs Our Help!

I never thought I would have to ask for this kind of help, but my son’s life depends on it. Shane is a proud and private man who has always taken care of his family. He raised three incredible children—two sons who serve our country and a daughter who works with special needs children. Now, he needs our help.

Shane has been battling Lymphedema, a debilitating disease with no cure, that has left him unable to work. The fluid buildup in his lower extremities has severely limited his mobility, making daily life incredibly difficult. Over a year ago, he applied for Social Security disability, but his claim was denied because Lymphedema is not listed in their “Blue Book” of qualifying conditions. He is now in the appeal process, but as with all government procedures, it is moving slowly. Meanwhile, he is running out of time to save his home.

His wife, Jodi, has taken a leave from work to care for him, meaning they currently have no income. The financial strain is overwhelming, and though treatment options exist, they are far from home and require costly transportation, travel, and housing expenses.
