Shane hid great pain behind his big smile. He tragically took his own life on February 27, 2022 leaving behind his young girls. Macie and Raegan were his life, his everything.
Friends describe Shane as hard working, caring, and as someone who ALWAYS SHOWED up (even when you did not realize you needed or even wanted him to). He WAS the life of the party. He touched the lives of many and to lose him in such a way is an absolute shock and tragedy that will haunt us all forever.

Research shows that children who are under 18 when their parents commit suicide are three times as likely to commit suicide as an adult. Shanes girls deserve to have the best that life has to offer. He never realized he wouldn't be able to provide for his girls.
My name is Jodie Rodriguez, formerly Jodie Pogge. I am scared for this family as I also know how death changes people. I am heart broken. I have known Lisa for almost 30 years... I have been close to Shane, Lisa and their girls for the last 10. I have some great memories of the McDermott family and Shane! I wanted to set up this GoFundMe for Shane and Lisa’s girls. I want everyone who donates to feel confident that this will go to no one but his girls. I want these girls to have every chance to go to college. I am heartbroken that this will fall entirely on Lisa's shoulders... so with some poking and prodding she allowed me to set this up.
In advance, I THANK YOU ALL! little by little we will help this family GET THRU THIS!!!
