Shane Masamori Young Memorial Campaign

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

It is with a heavy heart that I share on behalf of my family, the unexpected and sudden passing of Shane Masamori Young.

Uncle Shane loved adventures and lived life to the fullest. His hobbies included off-roading, cruising around the island on his motorcycle, and spending quality time with his friends and family. He shared his love for motorcycles, cars, and bikes with his children Zayne and Shyanne. Most of his free time was spent wrenching away on projects with Zayne, Shyanne, and his dad Alan.

On Thursday, August 29th, Uncle Shane tragically left us after getting into a motorcycle accident. My cousin Zayne had an eerie feeling after not being able to get in contact with his dad for nearly an hour. After noticing his father’s location did not change, Zayne decided to drive to his father’s location. It was there, where Zayne found his dad’s motorcycle in some bushes. After calling out for his dad, Uncle Shane responded and Zayne located him in critical condition at the bottom of a cliff near Punchbowl. Zayne called emergency services; however, Uncle Shane passed away due to injuries sustained while being transported to the hospital.

Uncle Shane was a very selfless man. He used to spend time during the holidays riding his motorcycle around the island to help with donations for Toys For Tots. In his last act of selflessness, Uncle Shane was an organ donor.

Uncle Shane leaves behind his children, Zayne and Shyanne, his granddaughter, Alzaia, and his parents Ann and Alan.

This GoFundMe has been created to help assist with the medical bills that will come, to lay Uncle Shane to rest, and to assist the family financially as they pick up the pieces and adjust to the challenges ahead. Every donation, no matter how big, is deeply appreciated as well as sharing this GoFundMe campaign.

Mahalo to each and every one of you for your continued support. Thank you for the texts, calls, thoughts, and prayers as we navigate through this challenging time.

“If one day speed kills me, don’t cry because I was smiling.”

A hui hou, Uncle Shane.
Ride In Paradise, we love you.
