On January 9th, 2022, my loving husband of 18 years and father of four precious children lost a lifelong battle with depression and traumatic brain injury. He was taken from us by his own hand.
Despite the trials and tribulations of his life, he was an inspiration to many. His heart was full of generosity, and he felt compelled to help others.
He was born visually impaired, and later acquired a traumatic brain injury during an attempted murder that would have resulted in my death and our unborn son's death had he not intervened.
Pushing through those multiple disabilities, he put himself through school several times, obtaining training and certifications in auto mechanics and later, medical massage. He felt very fulfilled being able to work with and diagnose both cars, and the complicated machinery of the human muscular system. He loved solar energy and put together several impressive solar power systems throughout the years.
Shane's final expenses are substantial and unexpected, and the sudden nature of his departure has left me without the financial means to pay for any of them. These expenses include but are not limited to cremation, legal costs, hazmat decontamination and disposal, repair of damage to our home, debt payments, and a memorial service if possible (please understand a memorial service is dependent upon receiving sufficient donations). There may be other as yet unknown expenses as well. Our family vehicle needs repair, and at this point, my children and I are entirely dependent upon the generosity of others. My immediate family is doing everything within their power to help us through this difficult time. I am asking for financial assistance from our family, friends, and anyone else whose life he may have touched. I have opened an account solely to handle funds donated for this purpose, and any donation is appreciated. Please help me to cover these costs and honor his life.
