As we all know life is a beautiful gift but sometimes that gift is taken from us so harshly and unfair. A few weeks ago my stepbrother Shane went in for what should have been a simple surgery but brought to light tragic news. His body was being taken over by stage 4 cancer. Once doctors were able to get more answers, they weren't the answers we wanted to hear. The cancer was so advanced and spread that his body wouldn't be able to fight it off. They did offer treatment as a way to give him about a year to be able to give him time to cherish more time with his family. Although he did attempt to take those treatments, his body isn't able to withstand the pain and he has made the impossible choice to discontinue. Hospice has been set up to help keep him comfortable with what's left of his time. As this was so quickly and unexpected, nothing has been set up for his afterlife care. We're creating this in hopes to help cover some of the costs. Shane is a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, and so much more. If you are able and find it in your heart please help ease one less burden on his family as no one can ever prepare themselves for something like this.
