Support Shane’s Recovery, therapy and Care
Our dear friends need our support and prayer warriors!
July 7, Shane was admitted to the hospital following a hemorrhagic stroke. While in a rehab facility the following week, he was experiencing increased weakness on his right side and transported to another hospital from the rehab. Further testing and an MRI found that he has a brain cavernoma (a cavernoma is a cluster of abnormal blood vessels usually found in the brain and spinal cord and resembles a raspberry). The cavernoma may require surgery later. Shane has returned to the rehab facility and currently working hard on his recovery. His rehab consists of PT, OT and speech therapy. Although it is hard work, he is determined and continues to push through to recover the impacted strength on his right side. His vision has also been affected. It is with prayers we have faith he can make a recovery to normal life. This is going to take a significant length of time as well as home health, Home PT, OT, and Speech therapy. Shane will not be able to return to work at either of his jobs, until January at the earliest. There is the potential he may get to go home from the rehab facility on August 7. This continues to cause a significant burden on them financially (on top of the medical costs) and emotionally affects their lives. Nicole is tasked with being the only income for their family and being his at home caregiver. Their daughter Mackenzie is attending college in Maine on the path to receiving her master’s degree and son Mason is a rising senior in high school.
We are asking for your prayers and any financial assistance you can provide. Your support in any way possible is greatly appreciated.
