Shane and Megans' request for help, in our time of need.

Dear Family and Friends,

This is so very hard to do. Those who know Shane and me, know we are proud people. We love our family and our community a great deal and we do what we can to help others.

However, this is a huge challenge I, Megan face, trying to fight and survive this rare and aggressive cancer of the Liver, that I have called Cholangiocarcinoma. We now must swallow our pride, and ask for help for ourselves.

 With my long chronic illnesses, my disabilities and thirty years on a pension, our financial means are limited.

We recently flew to Townsville to see the specialist and had no vehicle to get us around on that trip. We thought we could manage. However it was raining and taxis and Ubers were in high demand and the prices transport cost over just two days, was higher than expected. 

Our 2008 Ford Territory, whilst suitable to get us around Mackay, wouldn’t be reliable enough to get us the four hour trip to Townsville and back. Especially over several trips.

The upcoming surgery alone, will be major, with a lengthy recovery period. After that, the follow ups and other treatment will mean lots of visits and time staying in Townsville.

With the costs we face with accommodation, transport and other associated costs, we are reaching out to ask for assistance.

We understand times are tough and we would be very appreciative of your kindness and understanding and we would be extremely grateful for any help you could give.
