Shane and Leah Moss Kidney Transplant

As most of you know my brother Shane Moss has been battling kidney disease since 2018. It progressed to stage 5 in June 2021 and he was placed on the national kidney transplant list. After months and months of testing and beating all of the odds his wife Leah got the word that SHE was a match to be his living donor!

The transplant surgery was scheduled for February 9th, but was moved to the 28th at OU Medical Center in OKC. 

 Anyone who knows Shane and Leah know that they both do a lot around the community to help others and lend a helping hand. They are both very hard workers, but they will both be down for a long extended period. After about a week in the hospital, they will be staying another week in OKC at a hotel while they get Shane’s anti rejection medicine adjusted. He will have to have a lot of lab work for a week or two. After that they will still be making several trips back to the transplant center to stay on top of all of his medicine. This go fund will help them out with hotel, gas, meals, and will also help cover their part of the transplant that is not covered by insurance. Which is pretty hefty now that it’s a new year and they haven’t met their deductible. 

To know them is to love them. Seeing Shane and Leah together brings us so much joy and laughter. They have been patient and humble in this process. It is an amazingly beautiful story that could only be written by God. Our family will be forever grateful for this gift Shane is receiving from our precious Leah.
