i would like to say thank you to everyone for all your support ! It was a really scary time for me and I'm just so grateful for everything .My surgery was successful and I've earnt the moment to be released from hospital today. My full recovery and ability to work to support my family will take a few months ,but the main thing is I’m alive.This isn't something I take lightly ,and I will be definitely using this chance to do the best I can .

On Thursday August 3rd 2023, at approximately 6.30 pm, I was travelling locally to get dinner for my family of 5 (boys aged 5 and 3 and a baby girl 3 months old) when a car hit my motorbike at about 60 kms/hr. I was thrown very hard into trees and brickwork. My protective gear saved my life. However, I sustained very serious injuries and am in the ICU. I had emergency surgery on my aortic valve which was torn, I also have fractures in my face,9 broken ribs, a collasped lung and a staph infection.I proudly devote my life to family, friends and charities involved in Homelessness, Addiction Recovery and Mental Health. That is my real passion. Asking for things isn't something that comes easy for me or my partner. Three months ago my partner & I were blessed to have a baby girl, and providing for my young family is my priority. The road to recovery for me is going to take many months, as currently I can't move without the assistance of two physios, and my usual job requires physical labour. This has been a very traumatic event for me. But I'm highly grateful to be alive thanks to the amazing and caring staff at Royal North Shore Hospital. Anything donated will go to my Recovery medical expenses and to support my family. Thank you so much for reading my story, and please everyone, stay safe
