Help ShandieMarie Regain Her Freedom and Mobility
Hi, this is my sister, ShandieMarie, and I’m sharing her story in the hope that you might be able to help change her life.
On August 12th, 2024, ShandieMarie went in for surgery to repair a broken rod in her back. Before that day, she was mobile and independent. But something went wrong during surgery—and she woke up paralyzed. In a single moment, her world changed completely.
For the past 8 months, ShandieMarie has been living in a nursing home, away from her family, her home, and the life she once knew. She wasn't prepared for this physically, emotionally, or financially. Every day is a struggle, and while she works hard to stay hopeful and push forward, it’s not easy.
Now, I need your help.
ShandieMarie needs a customized wheelchair that fits her and supports her needs. Insurance has approved part of it, but she’s still responsible for $4,000 out of pocket—an amount we simply can’t afford. All of her monthly check goes toward rent at the rehab facility. She is left with just $70 a month for everything else.
On top of that, ShandieMarie also needs a wheelchair-accessible van so her family can take her out, whether it’s for appointments, family gatherings, or simply fresh air. Without it, she’s stuck there. The cost for a used wheelchair-accessible van is about $6,000—bringing the total amount needed to $10,000.
This fundraiser will help ShandieMarie:
• Pay the $4,000 for the wheelchair
• Purchase a used wheelchair van for $6,000
• Regain some of the independence she lost
I know times are hard for many, but if you’re able to give even a little—or simply share this with others—we will be forever grateful. Your support can help ShandieMarie get back to her family, regain her mobility, and finally feel like herself again.
Thank you from the bottom of our heart.
