In Memory of Shandi Bannister

As most of you know by now, Shandi passed away on Tuesday September 3, 2024. For all of you that knew Shandi and for those who didn’t he was a devoted father and family man. His girls were his pride and joy! He was always one of the first to be there with a smile on his face to help out with whatever you needed.

Shandi‘s family has already suffered unimaginable heartbreak with the loss of their beloved Kenadie in April of 2020. Zaya, his daughter has lost not only her sister, but now her father.

The last thing Zaya and her mom, Pasha, who has been by her side through all of this needs is the stress of the financial cost that comes along with an unexpected death. Zaya is a student and was to start her second year at Camosun this week, and Pasha has had to take unpaid time off to emotionally support their daughter and deal with the legal and personal paperwork.

The funds raised will help offset the costs of cremation, burial and other expenses ( Shandis personal items and storage lockers) they have already accrued to deal with his personal belongings. I know how amazing a community we have, so if we can all just help with even the smallest amounts, it would definitely ease some of that stress as they navigate this new reality.
