Shana’s Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Allie Patenaude. I’m Shana’s daughter.

As many of you know my mom suffered from from a massive stroke on October 30th 2021. She had just dropped the kids off at football practice when she stopped at Dunkin Donuts to use the restroom when she was washing her hands and suddenly lost feeling in her left hand. She was with Chris, he knew instantly something wasn’t right and brought her to Saints Campus. They were less than 5 minutes away.

They transported her to Brigham and Women’s in Boston, where we were told she had swelling in her brain. They removed partial skull from her right side. She now wears a helmet to protect her head from any further injuries.

She had swelling and larges amounts of bleeding, that will leave permanent and significant damage.

My mom is currently at Spaulding Rehabilitation in Charlestown receiving Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy as well as Speech Therapy in hopes that she will regain strength and mobility back, she is currently paralyzed on the left side.

A lot of you know my mom. She’s been through hell and back in just the last year, never mind the last 5 years. One thing for sure is my mom is as tough as nails.

We all hope to have my mom home for the Holidays. She wants nothing more than to see her grandson Grayson on his first Christmas.

The first step to getting my mom home is getting all of her now basic needs covered. My mother is now handicapped and with that comes a cost we just were not prepared for. We are trying to ease the financial burden on my mom, its been an emotion rollercoaster for not only us, but herself.

She was supposed to return to work November 1st 2021, just two days after her stroke.

With piling medical bills, hospital bills, handicap accessible items, and extensive brain surgery my mom will need in the foreseen future have taken a toll financially.

We aren’t sure what the future holds in regards to when and if my mom will be able to walk again, work again, or live a normal life, we are asking for your help.

If you are unable to donate, a share and a prayer is appreciated more than you know.
