Please help me to help Shamus & Santi and their new baby

Shamus & Shanti are my friends and they are in trouble. Shamus & Shanti live in Iraq and they have fallen on desperate times. They are due to have a baby in less than 2 weeks and have not got a single item for the baby at this stage and to make matters worse Shamus was screwed over by the International School he worked for in Erbil last week and they terminated his contract with no notice and told him because it is in his probationary period they do not have to give a reason, this is sadly how things work in Erbil and it is unlikely he will even receive his final salary, this is an international accredited school that forced him to work his 1st month with no salary at all and just told him it was because it was a training month before the school year started.

Shanti worked for as long as she possibly could and finished work just a few weeks ago because she simply cannot manage being on her feet all day doing heavy work whilst she is heavily pregnant.

They are young newlywed couple who are trying to make their way in life in a country that is less than welcoming and they cannot leave because they have no budget to leave and no jobs to go to, they are stuck, right now they do not even have the money to go to a hospital for the birth so it is looking likely that Shanti will need to home birth and just hope for the best which is less than ideal. There is no NHS in Iraq, they will be afforded zero help locally so I am asking if you will help me to raise some money to help them to be able to take Shanti to hospital for the birth and help them get a few essential items. I have purchased them a bassinet/cot and a few things to help them get started but I cannot do it alone.

Please consider donating a few £ to this fundraiser, every penny will be sent to Shamus & Shanti to use to prepare for their new baby. No one should be left in a position where they have a new baby and cannot even get the basics or have the comfort of knowing they can have the baby in a hospital but this is the position they are in.

Please try to think about living in a developing country where you will be given no help at all, a country where there is no regard at all for human life, corruption is rife and only the wealthiest people are able to get medical care and then imagine what it is like to be trapped in that country with no way of being able to get out, this is where Shamus and Shanti are.....
