BACKGROUND:
Shamar Lee , a very debonair chap who started doing this at Paige Elementary School and went on to The Blue Roses Theater of Schenectady High School. He recently graduated from SUNY Purchase with a bachelor’s degree in Playwriting/Screenwriting and Acting.
During his time at SUNY Purchase Shamar always saw himself doing this because this is all he’s ever wanted, even if no one else saw that in him.
He once told his father at a young age….“I wanna win the Oscar award for best actor” and he’s said that to himself everyday since.
Shamar hopes to bring some light to the life of wheelchair users and show the world normal it is. All of the happiness, laughter, love, struggle, hatred, pain and sadness! They’re all very human and wheelchair users are too.
Shamar is a very emotional actor and writer, he hopes to make his audience feel something in any aspect of life with everything he does.
One thing to know about Shamar is that… the man will always relentlessly roll to the beat of his own heart.
Shamar is partnering up with his best friend Gabriel Bodas, who’s one of the best and most genuine people on earth. They first met at the Purchase college gym and instantly the brotherhood was apparent. Shamar is really grateful to have Gabriel in his life because he has the heart that the world needs.
Gabriel Bodas is a passionate actor and emerging filmmaker with over a decade of experience in the performing arts. Beginning his journey at the age of 14, Gabriel honed his craft under the guidance of a personal coach before furthering his training at Purchase College, where he earned his bachelor's degree. He later deepened his commitment to the art of acting at The Neighborhood Playhouse, immersing himself in the renowned Meisner Technique.
Gabriel’s stage experience spans a range of genres and iconic productions, including Grease, Little Shop of Horrors, Almost, Maine, Edgar Allan Poe, and Sanctuary City. His talent has also extended to the screen, appearing in a commercial and a short film, showcasing his versatility as a performer.
Expanding his creative reach, Gabriel has recently stepped behind the camera as a filmmaker. His debut short film, A Parallel Light, was shot on the ARRI Alexa Mini, reflecting his eye for cinematic quality and narrative depth. He also directed a house music video titled I MISS U, collaborating with an award-winning director to bring a vibrant, emotionally resonant visual experience to life.
With a strong foundation in performance and a growing presence in independent filmmaking, Gabriel Bodas continues to explore powerful storytelling through both acting and directing.
Currently developing new film projects and preparing to return to the stage and screen, Gabriel is a dynamic talent to watch.
The Greatest Love Story
Scarlet and Merrick (wheelchair user) have known each other forever and they perhaps have some kind of love for each other but, they’re both afraid to burden one another with their own adversity.
I’m really hoping to submit this to the real abilities film festival and many more festivals.
