Shakesperience Camp 2016 (HUTA)

Backstory:

For years, the Hamilton Urban Theatre  has been offering a summer camp program to kids from all over Hamilton - Shakesperience Camp. 

The program has always been offered for free, and is an amazing adventure in theatre. Kids learn about the context of Shakespeare's plays, stage combat, acting and staging techniques, and how to cooperate to mount performances of some of the most famous plays in the world... in just two weeks.

My daughter has attended the camp for the past several years, along with several of her friends. She's been challenged and inspired along the way. She's had the opportunity to perform in full-scale Shakespeare performances, and has developed a real love of the stage as a result. Most importantly - she, and all the Shakesperience camp kids have a blast.

Last year, my daughter, along with some of her Shakesperience friends decided to raise money to support the camp. The camp costs nothing to attend, but has location and material costs that must be fundraised, or come out of the camp director's pocket.

Last year, we introduced BARD BOMBS – Shakespeare-influenced bath bombs. This year, we’re bring back the bombs and giving you another option for a way to smell great and support a great cause: cold-process soapmaking classes in exchange for your donation. Get a group together or come on your own.

Each Bard Bomb is $5, of which 95% ($4.75) will go to the camp ($0.25 from each bath bomb will go to cover supply costs, so we can continue to sustain our fundraising efforts as long as people want bath bombs!)

Soap making class costs vary based on class size, and all of the profits (proceeds less supply costs) will go to the camp.

We're happy to deliver in the Greater Hamilton area (but, unfortunately, beyond this, you'll have to cover the shipping costs). We’ll teach soapmaking classes within 100km of downtown Hamilton or Leamington ON.

If you're not a fan of bath bombs or soap-making, but you're willing to support the program let us know and we'll donate bath bombs to a local community organization to use as gifts for their volunteers and program participants #DoubleWin.

This year's BARD BOMB OPTIONS are:

Hermia: small, but mighty orange and vanilla scented mini-bombs that will remind you of a certain ice-cream-filled orange popsicle (that shall remain nameless). Package of 5 mini-bombs.

Helena: full of warm vanilla fragrance and just a bit of glitter, Helena might just make you crave post-bath cake and ice cream… (don’t say we didn’t warn you!)

Titania: The queen is back with a sultry sandalwood fragrance that you (and everyone around you) will love…

Miranda: Cheerful citrus notes will help you get your day off to an optimistic, “I love the world,” kind of start.

Ophelia: need to take it down a notch? Lavender essential oil will give you a helping hand while you chill in the tub.

Juliette: If you’re a fan of the floral, rosy Juliette’s your bomb.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Bard Bomb orders will be filled in the order they're received, beginning June 12, 2016, and continuing until the end of the summer. Classes will be booked on a first-come-first-served basis, and are subject to instructor availability.
