Dedicated to bringing Shakespeare's original acting methods and performance style to life, SIP began in a small classroom at Ave Maria University comprised of a handful of passionate students and one dedicated director. Since then, the program has expanded into a minor of studies focused on building a community of artists who share a love for Shakespeare and dedication to the art of acting as a gift of self. For the first time ever, Shakespeare in Performance will be performing two plays for their spring season, combining the genres of comedy and tragedy in a stunning 12 show run of Shakespeare's The Tempest and Macbeth. The production run is funded by the generosity of its donors and entirely run and produced by director, Dr. Travis Curtright and troupe members. This year, we are in need of costumes, instruments, weapons and props to bring to life the magic of Prospera's island and the gloom of Macbeth's Scottish heath. Any and all donations will immediately benefit our efforts to perform these two plays in April, 2019.
