Shakespeare Canada desperately needs your help! Our company has been decimated and is in financial ruins due to the current situation around the world with Covid-19.
For those that don’t know who we are, we are a professional theatre company that brings modern English adaptations of Shakespeare’s plays to schools across Canada. We have been touring schools for 18 years and in all that time we have never asked for anyone’s help financially, including the government’s. We believe that we should earn your money by giving you the best product we can in exchange for your admission fee.
We have hired hundreds of actors in our 18 year history. Those actors are now out of work. We lost over 80 contracts this year and our actors all lost a lot of income. So now we need your help.
As the administrators of the company, we are asking you to please donate what you can to help our actors survive this current crisis. Shakespeare Canada will not take a penny from this campaign. 100% of the donations will go back into the unemployed actors’ pockets.
We beg you to please donate what you can tohelp 12 struggling actors keep on being able to share their acting talents with your kids across Canada.
