Noah & Shaina's Cross Country Tour

Happy Springtime, friends! This is Shaina Sky, aka Indigo Sky; and Noah Mickens, aka William Batty; from Portland, Oregon.  We're hitting the road in less than a month with our new duet - "Batty & Sky" - combining aerial dance, hooping, vaudeville songs, and a darkly comic throughline story that ties it all together. We've got exciting shows and workshops set up in New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Atlanta, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Oakland. It's going to be incredible.

We're seeking donations to help us cover the travel cost, including airfare, buses/trains, and daily ammenities.  A few things have not gone according to plan, and we need a little help to offset these unexpected setbacks. 

You may have seen us performing together in Wanderlust Circus, Super Geek League, The Saloon Ensemble's "Nitemare B4 Xmas"; or individually in hundreds of other shows; but this will be our first national tour as Batty & Sky. It's the project that's inspiring us the most right now, and we can't wait to show it off to new people in new cities. We'll be so grateful for any donation you're able to make, from small and earnest to extravagantly generous. Donations are tax deductible, and we've cooked up some nice perks to show our appreciation.

UPDATE 6/28/17
The tour just ended, and GoFundMe has requested a more detailed breakdown of how we spent the money we raised here.

It went mostly to plane, train, and bus tickets. That's the original thing that went south on this tour - our Wanderlust van experienced internal transmission failure just shortly before we were scheduled to leave, and the mechanics told us we might as well just buy a new van rather than paying to rebuild the transmission. Buying a new van seemed cost-prohibitive, so we worked it out thusly:

Flight from Portland to NYC - $452.38
(additional bag fees $135)
Amtrak from NYC to Cleveland - $166.00
Greyhound from Cleveland to Philadelphia - 143.00
Amtrak from Philadelphia to New Orleans - $322
MegaBus from New Orleans to Austin - $110
Flight from Austin to San Diego - $225.77
(additional bag fees - $230)
Amtrak from San Diego to Portland - $520

The rest of the money raised went for food, a couple motel rooms in Cleveland, public transit to get us around the various cities we visited, and the purchase of two gigantic roller bags that were big enough for Shaina and I to fit inside of in our act. 

GoFundMe has also curiously asked us to clarify who we're raising these funds for, so I want to make it clear that we're raising these funds for ourselves; or rather, to pay for a tour performing our duet show and teaching workshops. We're Noah Mickens and Shaina Sky, and we're producing this tour through Wanderlust Circus. The tour is now over, however, having officially ended on the 27th of June; so any donations made from this point on will only cover our financial losses from this tour.
