It is with deepest regrets, and I wish with all my heart that I didn’t need to write this, on the 18th of September 2020, my sister Shail Ashlee Dumias-Houle sadly passed away.
She was one of a kind and my angel on earth. She was an amazing daughter, the best sister and a friend to many. She lit up every room with her smile and illuminated the world with her heart. The number of people who have reached out to me, who knew of Shail and shared unforgettable memories with her, is endless.
Shail respected our culture, traditions and our Cree ways of life. Her passion was dancing jingle, and watching her do what she loved most made me so proud.
Even though Shail was only with us for a short amount of 19 years, we will all cherish the beautiful times we’ve shared with her, although it’ll never seem like enough time. The impression she left here on earth will never be forgotten as she was my angel, but now watches over all of us in the spirit world.
With this unexpected loss, I humbly ask if possible that any donation, even the smallest amount, could help cover funeral costs so that we can give my sister the celebration that she deserves.
