MAV Volunteer’s Shelter

As Salam Wa Aalaykum, the volunteer parking & security group is raising funds for the Dar Al Noor Islamic Community Center, Muslim Association of Virginia located on Hoadly Rd. 

Through harsh & extreme weather conditions, our volunteer group provides parking and security services year round to our growing community without taking compensation from the masjid.

With the approval from MAV, we have started construction on the volunteer’s shelter (shown in pictures) but we need your help to finish the project before the busiest month of the year, Ramadan. The 300 square foot living space will include heating & cooling for year round support. 

During Ramadan, our volunteers work double time to ensure parking, security and emergency services are available throughout the night for the entire month. The shelter will help store all of their equipment, maintain shift schedules and keep our volunteers engaged more efficiently to provide better service to our community.
