#ShaeStrong - Help Shae-Lynn During Her Fight

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kersten. Shae-Lynn is my middle brother's wonderful girlfriend, aka. my sister. Shae-Lynn, Mitchell and her family would never want to burden anyone by asking for money. However, as Shae-Lynn goes into another 100 days of her big fight, money should be the last thing on their mind.

Shae is currently waiting to head back to Ottawa for another Stem Cell Transplant and another 100 days. Her sister Kallista sadly is not a match this time, so she will be using someone on the registry. Although we are lucky to live in Canada, where healthcare is free, this comes at an extreme financial burden for Shae, Mitchell and her family. Shae has to pay for housing while living in Ottawa and all of their bills back home in Kingston. Shae's Mom, Kallista and Mitchell have to take time off of work to be there and bear the cost of gas driving back and forth. No one should ever have to worry about this, especially a 24-year-old going through this for the third time.

Shae's journey started in March 2020. While the rest of the world was on lockdown, Shae was in the fight of her life, as she was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia presenting with the Philidelphia Chromosome. Shae was admitted to Kingston General Hospital and received numerous amounts of chemotherapy. In November 2020, there was hope! Shae's selfless sister, Kallista was a match for a Stem Cell Transplant. After living in Ottawa for 100 days with her mom, Shae was able to go home and recover. As she started to transition back to her life, she relapsed on October 27, 2021. Being an ideal candidate for a T-Cell Transplant Shae had her T cells collected in Ottawa to be sent away and modified in New Jersey in preparation for her upcoming CAR-T Transplant. Shae and her mom had to spend another month in Ottawa, and on December 29, Shae received her CAR-T Transplant. We all had so much hope at this moment, especially when we received the news she was in remission. However, on May 17, 2022, she relapsed again. Through all of this she was still able to finish her final university course and attend her graduation.

Any amount you can donate goes a long way. $5 for a Starbucks coffee to brighten her day. $100 for gas to help Mitchell come to visit her on the weekend. $500 for part of her rent in Ottawa.
