Hello, my name is Shanae, I was recently the victim of someone's negligence that has now left me paralyzed.
On January 10th 2021, my life changed forever when I was struck by a stray bullet on my way home riding in the car with my sister. The bullet penetrated the trunk of my sister's vehicle and went into the passenger's seat where I was sitting. The bullet went directly into my spine where I instantly lost feeling. Doctors have informed me that the bullet is permanently lodged into my spine for the remainder of my life. I have no feeling or mobility below the waist due to this traumatic experience. As I begin to adjust to what has become my new normal, I will continue to seek other professional opinions and new research developments that will help me regain strength and function in those impacted areas of my body.
I am truly blessed to still be alive, I have been between hospitals and rehabilitation centers since this has happened. This may be a long journey for me but I do believe that I can and will overcome any obstacles along the way.
While this unfathomable event has shaken my life, I will not let it define who I am. I say this all to humbly ask for any donations to help my family and I with my recovery, doctors expenses, rehabilitation and special equipment that will be needed, so that I may continue to live the life God has blessed me with. Your many prayers and support are greatly appreciated and I am forever grateful for any assistance you provide.
