The J N Tucker Memorial Cemetery-Shady Oaks is in total disarray and with over 280+ plots, including at least 35 Veterans, this is a disgrace to their ultimate sacrifice! These young men and women deserve to be remembered and deserve a better environment, to be forgotten is bad enough, but to have their grave sites desecrated with empty beer bottles and trash is unforgivable. Please help us so we can clean up this final resting place for some of the Founders and earliest settlers of the town of Eau Gallie, started in 1912 by the African American Community... Most of the veterans are US Army, with at least one US Marine, one Air Force & one Navy! Thank you to all for your donations, any amount with be appreciated and let’s get rolling!!
Hooah & Oorah!!! Let’s have these young men and women’s 6! We are now cleaning another Cemetery in Melbourne, the J S Stone Memorial Cemetery off E University Blvd and Grant Street, started in 1921 by the Stone Family, Africa America families were never charged for the burial service, only donations! We have 84 Veterans and 300 civilians buried here, many of their Veteran Headstones were unreadable from the growth on the headstones! Our first clean up, we removed over a ton of trash and rotted trees, plants and overgrowth by our 50 incredible volunteers!! Every Veterans headstones have been cleaned, not once, not twice, but three times!! Some look absolutely beautiful again! Sadly over a dozen veterans headstones are falling over or have almost sunken out of view!! We are getting heavy machinery and man power to remove, straighten and place properly! Please help us continue our saving our Veterans Honor and Dignity! Please donate to help us continue this work!
