Hey there… my cat Shadow was shot with a 22 caliber on Lilac Drive early Monday morning!!!

She came in for a nap and woke up around noon, meowing in pain, she tried to get up and fell off the couch.

We rushed her to the ER and we were given a death sentence, they claimed they examined her for any trauma and diagnosed her with saddle thrombus, letting us know that the next flare up she has we will probably have to choose euthanasia. I spent most of the day crying. They also said they found a “pellet stuck in her left leg from an old injury, nothing to worry about”… later on when we got home we found a bullet wound with matted fur and dried blood… on her RIGHT side….

the next day our doctor here in town rushed her in on an emergency status, even though they were booked!! (S/O to Bear Valley Animal Clinic in Los Osos!!!!) only to find that the wound was the point of entry and the bullet created a fracture and remains stuck in between the bone.

They splinted it and that was another $700 something dollars on top of the over $700 we already spent at the ER in slo. We are actively trying to get our money back and also we have reported EVERYTHING to the police.

Money was already tight but this month has been even worse… then this happens..

We met with the Edna Valley surgeon this morning and went over our options.

The road ahead is gonna be a long recovery no matter what option we choose ofc depending on how much we can raise and scrape together, PS the surgeon absolutely does not recommend amputation for those of you thinking that, he didn’t even offer it as one of our possibilities. I brought it up and he said no.
