Hi, my name is Elaina. I was recently accepted into an international medical training program that requires travel to Portugal and Italy. During this program, I will have the opportunity to shadow doctors and gain valuable experience in healthcare while learning how procedures and techniques differ in other countries. The trip will be six weeks long in the summer of 2023 and is being run by the Atlantis program. I will spend three weeks in Portugal and three weeks in Italy shadowing five to six different medical specialties. This trip will also help me achieve my goal of getting into medical school by allowing me to gain shadowing hours that are highly valued in both rural and urban healthcare. Shadowing abroad will provide unique experiences that will broaden my worldview, and teach me how to overcome language and cultural barriers. Any help to reach this dream is appreciated, thank you!!
