Shadow DBC Scholarship Fund
Please help Shadow Drum and Bugle Corps provide more scholarship money for students in need!
Many young performers work incredibly hard for this opportunity, but even as Shadow DBC and the Oregon School District do our best to keep the experience more affordable than almost any other drum corps, some families struggle to cover the cost. Many students of low socioeconomic status (whether from a lack of familial support, or familial issues that are of far greater importance than drum corps) struggle to be able to afford this opportunity.
We have started a scholarship fund so that when we learn THESE kids' stories, kids who need drum corps more than most, we are able to help them fulfill their drum corps dreams.
Can you help?
This campaign will directly assist members, based both on degree of need and work ethic of the student. Our initial plan is three $500 scholarships and four $250 scholarships. Alumni/families/fans/patrons: you can make a real difference in the life of a prospective member.
We will not publicly share the names of students who receive these scholarships (though donors can ask privately), but every dollar collected will be put toward members who need the help. DCI is an incredible, transformative experience, and we are committed to making sure that money is never the primary obstacle between a young person and their drum corps dreams!
We also still have a handful of brass and colorguard spots remaining for 2019, to be filled before June 5, so spreading the word on that is appreciated! Interested parties can fill out this simple form for more info: bit.ly/shadowinterest
