The Shadoan family watched as the water rose up the steps and even used their clothing and bedding to try and prevent the water from crossing the threshold of their home while the remnants of Hurricane Sally pounded the town of Sumter, SC. Their efforts failed and they watched their home flood. Their insurance will not cover anything as they did not have flood insurance. They will need help with clean up and repairs, and to replace appliances, furniture, and necessities for them and their 2 children.  Any help would be greatly appreciated and put to good use to help rebuild their home and lives.
