Shaddows’ Surgery Costs
Donation protected
Hi, my names Ayla, my lovely pup Shaddow had a lump found on his back leg, we have had a biopsy done and it has come back with a grade 1 soft tissue sarcoma meaning he does have grade 1 cancer.
They are hopeful that with removal he will be fine, it is the least likely to spread and the least likely to return once fully removed.
He had the removal completed on 5th June and is currently feeling rather sorry for himself in a crate with a big cone on his head, on plenty of medication to keep the pain at bay as best as possible. It’s a long process to heal for him as they had to do reconstruction surgery due to the area and where it was attached to his tendons. There is very little room to begin with and they needed a further 2/3 cm margin to cut around the lump to get it fully and so he will has a large wound that they need to cover. Recovery will be tough.
With the scary surgery also came a vet bill that our insurance won’t cover pretty much any of, as it’s been used up on the diagnosis portion of his treatment. We have been very lucky that someone has already offered to put a large sum towards the bill and the rest has been paid on a loan to cover the rest, the money that we have currently raised has helped so much and we will always be so grateful for the assistance of everyone that has put towards Shaddow's care whether that was monetarily or emotional support for my partner Oscar and I, all forms of support are so valuable to us at this moment and all of the care shown is greatly appreciated.
I had people suggest a go fund me to help. I was hesitant as I hate taking money from people and even writing this I felt strange but I was asked and so I did
. Please do not feel the need to donate, it is only if you have the desire and the means to do so.
Thank you to everyone that’s been messaging us to see how we and Shaddow are doing and thank you for just keeping us in your thoughts, Shaddow means the world to Oscar and I and it has been and will continue to be one of, if not the, hardest time in our lives.
Shaddow is loving the extra attention and time he is spending with us and hopefully this surgery will mean many more years with our bubbly bouncy boy.
