Hi everyone! My former student and his resilient mother, Landon and Shadae respectively, lost their home, belongings, and pets in a tragic fire this past weekend.

They have nothing but the clothes on their backs, but what they DO have is a vast community ready to help them through this insane tragedy.

Here is the post from Shadae's social media account, so her words are seen and heard:

"On Friday, my son and I lost EVERYTHING, but our lives. Our house is gone and my families animals died in this fire. While all of the materialistic things are gone, we still have one another.

Anyone that’s on my page that would like to advocate for the individual responsible for these horrendous crimes that transpired, PLEASE REMOVE YOURSELF. This page will show you that I’ll be victorious through all of this. #prince #skye #nitro"

Throughout their lives, both Landon and Shadae have overcome obstacles that some cannot fathom. Medical diagnoses and procedures that saved Shadae to live her life to the fullest, early intervention services that allowed Landon to shine as bright as his smile and laugh, and a family that held them close and is a family to strive for, regardless of what was happening in their worlds.

Anything you can contribute to bring this pair back on their feet, give them the head start they need, and remind them that their community is bigger than they could imagine is so much appreciated.
