Alyson has always been a person who has given to others selflessly. Alyson and her husband, Chris, have six children ranging from ages 6 to 19 years - all of whom were adopted through foster care. Alyson was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor after she started having seizures. CAT scans indicated that the tumor was attached to the optic nerve and close to the carotid artery. Because of the size and location of the tumor, the surgeon recommended that she have the tumor removed. Surgery occurred on April 14, 2015, and the tumor was successfully removed; however, Alyson experienced some significant complications. Since the surgery, she is unable to open or move her left eye, and she is experiencing double vision. It is uncertain if these important functions will return - and if they do, how long it will take. Alyson will require additional medical treatment to try to heal the optic nerve damage that was caused by the surgical removal of the tumor. This fund was created to assist the Redford Family with the cost of surgery, future medical costs, and travel expenses.
