Hi everyone, my name is Kristy and I created this fundraiser to help my mom, Debbie Pearson. For the past couple of months, she's been in a lot of pain. She went to urgent care, but nothing was seen. Still in pain a couple of months later, I got her in to my doctor, which started a long line of different tests and scans. On Aug 12, we were told that she has metastatic cancer in her spine. More tests have been done since then, including a PET scan on Aug 18. That PET scan report is showing it's lung cancer that has metastasized to more areas than just her spine. We see her oncologist on Aug 20 for the next steps and to understand what this means.

My mom, Debbie, is a big part of our community here in Wasilla. She was a manager at a food establishment for over 20 years, between Michigan and then here, and is currently with Three Bears for over 5 years as a PIC. She is a sweet and caring soul who adores her conversations with her customers. She loves to hear their stories and how they are doing.

Unfortunately, between the pain she is in and all of the doctor appointments, tests, scans, etc., she has missed so much work, and these appointments aren't cheap. Even with insurance, she still has out-of-pocket costs between deductibles, co-pays, medication, etc. This isn't a sprint. It's going to be a marathon, and I would love it if we can help her to not have to worry about the financial aspect while in treatment as she fights this cancer.

She has always been a remarkable wife to my dad. She's an amazing mom to my sister and me. She has a family that adores her: 8 grandkids, 6 of them local, who love their Nana. Her work family is rallying around her, and they need her too. This community loves her. She also has a community in Michigan, a mixture of family and people that she has helped along the way.

She now needs our help, everyone. Please, if you can donate, please do. If you can't donate, please pray for her. This GoFundMe really started because I asked our community to pray for her. So many people reached out, telling their stories of her and asking for another way to help along with praying. Please also share this. The more we can get it shared, the more help my mom will be able to get, whether that be prayers or donations.

Yesterday, my mom said, "I haven't been anywhere. I haven't done anything. Once I beat this, I want to go to Ireland. We have family history there, and it's always been a place that seems so peaceful." So to be fully transparent, any donations left over after she beats this will go towards helping her dream of going to Ireland.
