I have a big announcement. I’m about to launch a project I’ve been planning for over a year.
In mid April, I’m packing myself into a van and traveling across the eastern United States to teach people about trees.
I’ll be giving dozens of in-person tours, classes, lectures, and workshops at arboreta, botanic gardens, and nature centers. In between those stops, I’ll be filming trees everywhere.
I’ve been saving money and booking teaching engagements to help pay my way through this project, but your support would make a real difference. It would help cover basic living costs, equipment, travel, and time — and allow me to focus on creating more, freely available education for the public.
My goal is to give people access to the highest quality tree education I can possibly offer.
Extensive knowledge about trees and wood, their history, use, identification, and ecology used to exist throughout the general population. Now it is sparsely available, and largely the domain of academia. I'd like to change that.
This is my life's mission.
If you’ve learned something from my work, believe in this project, or want to help subsidize free public education about trees, I’d be deeply grateful for your support. No donation is too small.
Thank you for being here — and for caring about trees.
